Volunteers will run activities for approximately 90 minutes in a morning and then required to assist with resource development in the afternoon, prior to assisting with a class the next day.\u00a0 Tuesday and Thursdays &#8211;\u00a0After lunch volunteers will help with childcare related activities, which may include such tasks as: gardening, agricultural project, resource development at the school.<\/p><p><strong>Volunteers do not need to be qualified or experienced teachers to participate on this project.<\/strong><\/p><p>The area around Chiang Rai is home to thousands of hilltribe people, with childcare centres in many of the hilltribe villages (mainly Akha, Lahu, and Karen). The childcare centres and kindergarten are located in local villages, or a single centre will serve a number of communities in the local area. If volunteers can bring resources with them, or buy them locally, this is very helpful. If photocopies are wanted for teaching, we ask that volunteers pay for these copies themselves, as the fee paid does not cover extras such as this.
